Acast Identifies Nearly Two in Three Fans of Podcasts Listen to Podcasters' Gifting Suggestions for the Holidays

The largest independent podcast company in the world, Acast, today published a global podcast advertising guide for the holiday season of 2023 that is based on research and insights.

Over half of US podcast listeners surveyed said they planned to spend $300 or more on presents, according to a study done by Acast for the guide. Nine out of ten US podcast listeners said they planned to treat themselves and others during the holidays. 63% of US listeners trust a podcaster's opinion or suggestions for gifts during the holiday season when considering the impact of podcasting on purchasing decisions.

The guide, which is aimed at brands and agencies worldwide, is jam-packed with useful information that reveals how podcast listeners behave during this busy holiday shopping season. A playbook for podcast advertising during the holidays is included in the guide, along with a calendar of important dates that advertisers can use.

These important dates are supported by podcast keyword and transcription data provided by Podchaser, the intelligence engine for the podcast sector, assisting marketers in identifying times when podcast conversations on subjects like Thanksgiving food, purchasing Christmas trees, Hanukkah gifts, and more are at their most active. The playbook also provides advice on how to approach audio ad creatives for podcast advertising and plan campaigns successfully.

Every advertiser is aware that the holiday season is the busiest time for retail sales, so Acast wants to show them how podcast advertising can help them stand out from the crowd and be heard. Our research demonstrates the impact that podcast advertisements have on listeners, all thanks to dependable hosts, relevant context, and unmatched focus. The results that marketers want this year are our gift to them, according to Simon Franklin, senior brand marketing manager at Acast.
