Acast, the world’s largest independent podcast company, today announced that three of its leading podcasts in Asia have been named a finalist in the Asia Podcast Awards. Additionally, Acast as a brand has been named a finalist in the Innovation of the Year category.

The annual awards recognize the most outstanding individuals, teams and organizations working within podcasting from across the Asian media and marketing landscape. Winners will be announced at Radio Days Asia, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 2-4, and People’s Choice voting for all categories is now open.

Acast and its leading podcasts have been named a finalist in the following categories:

  • Innovation of the Year: Acast

  • Best Fictional Podcast: Ghost Maps

  • Best Society and Culture Podcast: The Daily Ketchup

  • Best Money and Business Podcast: The Financial Coconut

For more than a decade, Acast has been a leader in innovation in the podcast industry. In 2014, Acast crucially invented dynamic ad insertion and three years later pioneered programmatic ad buying in podcasting. Today, both have become standard practice throughout the industry. Acast has also launched important first-to-market ad tech capabilities to the industry including its self-serve advertising platform. Additionally last year, Acast announced updates to the platform to enable real-time collaboration between advertisers and podcast creators with its “AdCollab” tool.

“For the past decade, Acast has been a global leader in podcasting and while our move into the Asian market is one of our most recent expansions, it’s been intentional from the start. These finalist selections in the Asia Podcast Awards reflect that strategic growth and fixture on high quality content with which Acast entered the market,” said Megan Davies, International Managing Director at Acast.

You can cast your vote for Acast using the People’s Choice form.

Its marketplace spans more than 125,000 podcasts, 2,700 advertisers, and one billion quarterly listens. Crucially, those listens are monetized wherever they happen - across any podcasting app or other listening platform.
