Leading UK Podcast Network Adelicious Celebrates Banner Year in 2023

The top independent British podcast hosting and monetization network in the UK, Adelicious, saw tremendous growth in 2023, with a sharp rise in network listens of 314%, which equates to a seven-fold increase over the previous two years.

For the invite-only company, which is the home of Apple's most well-liked podcast in the UK in 2023 (The Diary of a CEO) and the 2023 I'm a Celebrity "King of the Jungle" show Staying Relevant, hosted by the brilliant Pete Wicks, 2023 Sam Thompson's show has had a remarkable year.

With a diverse mix of well-known brands using the Adelicious network, such as Amex, Airbnb, Bupa, Fever Tree, Virgin Atlantic, Peloton, Warner Bros., Slack, TNT, and many more, Adelicious has also produced a strong revenue performance in 2023. Adelicious and Uber's media agency EssenceMediaCom played a key role in negotiating the agreement for Uber to sponsor The Diary of a CEO.

In order to give their media agency and advertiser partners independently verified proof of brand safety and brand suitability, Adelicious became the first UK podcast network to partner with Sounder this year.

Adelicious continued to support the podcast community by serving as the main sponsor of the Independent Podcast Awards and The Cheerful Earful Festival, the UK's first comedy-podcast festival. In addition, Adelicious co-founder David McGuire served on the British Podcast Awards judging panel and hosted a panel at The Podcast Show on "How to build a podcast that brands say yes to."

Additionally, the network just last week announced a strategic partnership with Realm, an audio entertainment company. Realm will serve as the exclusive advertising representative for a slate of Adelicious shows in the US market, which includes titles like Intelligence Squared and Super Great Kids' Stories alongside hits like Real Dictators, Real Survival Stories, and Short History Of... In the US alone, these shows have received over two million monthly downloads combined.

The Adelicious workforce experienced growth as well, with the addition of new personnel such as Amanda Smith, the agency's new director. This ensures that the proper team is in place to guarantee the company's robust growth into 2024 and beyond.
