🔥AIR's New Voices Program: Empowering Audio Makers

🚀 Advertise with our newsletter to get in front of Podcasters and Podcast Producers

Association of Independents in Radio (AIR) proudly announces its 2024 New Voices Class. The virtual New Voices programme will bring together 16 emerging, underrepresented audio makers from August to December 2024 to discuss their creative journeys and support them. The programme carefully matches participants with mentors they will meet with monthly. New Voices receive a $1000 stipend, ongoing support, AIR member resources, online workshops, and networking opportunities in addition to training with a mentor. A series of compelling workshops led by New Voices alums, AIR members, and distinguished industry speakers will give this year's scholars a toolkit of versatile skills and a clearer picture of how they can adapt to and catalyse change in a changing media landscape while reimagining more collaborative career paths. Each programme graduate joins an incredible network of audio industry alumni from all levels and careers. New Voices Captain & Alumni Ray Pang (‘21) and AIR's New Voices Programme Manager Lynn Casper lead this year's programme with support from a Review Committee of alumni Kyle Norris (‘16), Liz Mak (‘15), Pallavi Kottamasu (‘17), and Morgan Givens (‘18). Join AIR in welcoming 2024's dynamic New Voices! #AIRNewVoices Programme History: At AIR, we want all media makers—especially those whose lived experiences are challenged by structural inequity—to have the resources, support, and opportunity to continue their creative paths. New Voices has given underrepresented audio independents space, opportunity, and community since 2009. Based on AIR's commitment to diverse voices and experiences, the New Voices programme helps independents be heard, amplified, and understood. PRPD and Third Coast conferences previously drew select attendees. Due to COVID-19, the programme moved online in 2020 to support New Voices nationwide. AMPLIFY, AIR's 2024 cohort, helps podcast creators market their shows. Find out about AMPLIFY.
