• Spotify paid about $100 million for Max Cutler's scripted-audio entertainment startup Parcast Studios in 2019. Pave Studios brings Cutler back to the game. His new company builds genre-specific brands for creator-partnered audio, video, books, live experiences, merchandise, and more.

💥 Podcasting Reaches New Heights: A Quarter of UK Adults Now Regular Listeners

The medium of podcasting is expanding, and its audience is increasing. The percentage of people who listen to podcasts on a weekly basis has doubled over the last five years, to reach 22.8% of the population, according to RAJAR's spring 2023 MIDAS report. The most recent Q3 2023 RAJAR results show that over 30% of adults in the UK who are 15 years of age or older listen to podcasts at least once a month. According to Edison's Share of Ear report from Q3 2023, the average amount of time spent listening to podcasts has increased by more than 4.5 times since 2013 and is currently over 25 minutes per day. Podcast listeners are also proving to be more highly engaged than ever. Moreover, because of the high levels of audio engagement, podcasts present an investment opportunity for advertisers. According to Edison, more than 80% of US adults over the age of 13 listen to at least one type of ad-supported audio every day. There is content for everyone in the market, including Gen Z and millennial consumers as well as older generations who are discovering podcasting as an alternative to traditional media formats. • The Peabody Awards on Thursday announced that Quinta Brunson, Damon Lindelof, Ramy Youssef, Pamela Adlon, and Charlie Brooker are among the first guests to appear on the new podcast, "We Disrupt This Broadcast."

• The podcasts "Jimmy's Three Things" and "Wake N' Jake" from the sports media company Jomboy Media have been added to The Dan Patrick Podcast Network, as of right now, according to iHeartPodcasts.

• Veritone has introduced new updates to its Advertising and Content Intelligence Suite, focusing on protecting data privacy and maximising ad revenues.
