Apple released the top podcasts of 2023 today, along with year-end charts tailored for listeners in almost 100 different nations and areas.

PwC's September IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report states that spending on podcast digital audio advertising increased 19.2% in the September quarter over the same period last year.

πŸ“’ Apple released 2023's most popular podcasts and year-end charts for nearly 100 countries and regions today. From January to December 2023, the Browse tab lists the top podcasts, new shows, most followed shows, most shared shows and episodes, and top free and subscriber channels. Shows We Love, a curated collection of popular narrative and episodic series, is available in over 15 markets. Apple Podcasts will announce the Show of the Year on Tuesday, December 5.

πŸ“’ Podcast digital audio advertising spend rose 19.2% in the September quarter compared to last year, according to PwC's September IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report (OAER).

  • Sam Keogh has been named head of agency sales - Sydney by SCA chief commercial officer Seb Rennie. Keogh joins SCA with over 11 years of experience in media sales and management, having previously served as group business director at JCDecaux.

  • The health and wellness social shopping app Spree named Phil Ranta its new CEO. Ranta was COO of digital management agency We Are Verified.

  • The Acast Australia group business director resigns to join SCA's LiSTNR team. Following his February departure, Acast Victoria group business director Bryce Crosswell will join Southern Cross Austereo's LiSTNR as head of digital sales in Melbourne.
