LiveOne CEO Robert Ellin and PodcastOne President Kit Grey led a group of podcasters as they rang the Nasdaq opening bell on Friday, more than a year after it initially announced plans to split off PodcastOne into a free-standing public company. When the stock "PODC" debuted at $8 per share, it was priced at the low end of the range that had been previously disclosed, giving PodcastOne a $230 million market value.

PodcastOne, founded in 2013 by network radio executive Norm Pattiz, was acquired by Live One (then LiveXLive Media) in May 2020. It then announced its July 2022 plan to spin off PodcastOne. Ellin said the move was made to address LiveOne's stock undervaluation and the podcast division's contributions to the parent company. Slacker Radio, React Presents, Gramophone Media, Palm Beach Records, Custom Personalisation Solutions, LiveXLive, and PPVOne are also LiveOne subsidiaries.
