Liberated Syndication Inc., a top podcasting platform, issued a report that showed host-read ads were up 24% year over year during the first half of 2024, and further growth is expected in the second half of the year.

The Revelations :

  • Growth in the segment of host-read ads was a result of large new campaigns with Fortune 100 brands, such as Company X and Company Y. These will further establish Libsyn's position as a leader in podcast ad space.

  • It has strengthened the Libsyn Ads sales force with Rick Selah as Chief Revenue Officer and oversees all of the revenue strategies. Stephen Pickens joins as Executive Vice President of Sales, with Anthony Savelli also joining in the same role to drive the sales initiatives.

  • The company has tapped a veteran in podcasting—Stephen Perlstein, Senior Vice President of Publishing—who will lend his expertise in podcasting to shape and optimize Libsyn's publishing strategy for more audience engagement.

  • Libsyn remains the top three podcast networks and publishers of Podtrac, directly ranking in streams, downloads, and views of insecurely being one of the leaders in this line.

According to Rick Selah, the Chief Revenue Officer of Libsyn, podcast advertising is growing fast, having seen a 30% increase in just one year by advertisers looking to reach audiences with advanced targeting and measurement that's closer to other digital channels. "We're accelerating investment in product innovation and deepening our talent bench to further relationships with the advertisers and agencies that have empowered more brands to harness the power of our host-read, dynamic, and programmatic ad offerings as we enter our next phase of accelerated growth."
