Season five of the groundbreaking podcast Life After Prison, hosted by Zak Addae-Kodua and Jules Rowan, two ex-convicts turned award-winning podcasters, returns on Thursday, February 29th.

Launching on Thursday 29th of February, Zak Addae-Kodua and Jules Rowan β€“ former prisoners turned award-winning podcast hosts – return for season five of their ground-breaking podcast, Life After Prison.

Finally leaving prison might sound like a reason to celebrate, but Zak and Jules, who both have lived experience of jail, understand that 'getting out' isn't so simple. Life After Prison has been at the forefront of breaking the stigma of being a part of the prison system and aims to help answer the question on the minds of everyone leaving jail: what now?

Their open and relatable approach to sharing their own experiences has made a huge impact online, helping educate the nation about what life is really like in prison. Social clips such as 'what is food like in prison?' have gained up to 1.3 million views and have also helped to start opening up discussions about topics such as 'how can we keep young people out of jail?' and 'Is prison like you see on TV?' Their dedication to breaking down barriers has resonated with audiences worldwide and saw the pair win the coveted Best New Presenter award at the 2023 ARIAS Awards.

Series five of the podcast will continue to push boundaries with candid conversations and compelling interviews. On The Sit Down - Life After Prison's flagship show - Zak and Jules share eye-opening discussions with individuals who have transformed their lives since leaving prison. From producer and filmmaker David Navarro β€“ best known for his YouTube content, Delinquent Nation β€“ to Steve Gallant β€“ who received the Queen’s Gallantry Medal after his intervention in the London Bridge Terror attack in 2019 – guests will share unique insights into the complexities of reintegration into society after serving time.

Getting Out β€“ Life After Prison's secondary show β€“ tackles topics crucial to individuals facing the challenges of post-prison life. The duo discuss everything from disclosing criminal convictions and maintaining recovery from substance abuse to practical tips for sorting housing and bank accounts.

Life After Prison is funded by the National Lottery and produced by the Prison Radio Association, the charity that also runs National Prison Radio. As a radio station, National Prison Radio has a huge impact; more than 75% of prisoners listen in. From inside prison walls to the outside world, Zak and Jules' message resonates – not just with listeners, but with policymakers and advocates alike.

Join Zak and Jules weekly as they continue to break barriers, share stories, and redefine the narrative of life after prison.
