With immediate effect, the largest independent podcast production company in the UK has named Nicole Logan as "Executive Producer - Development" and Andy Neilson as "PR & Communications Manager."
Logan will spearhead efforts to identify talent, pilot shows, and see them through to launch. Logan was previously Head of Development at the production company Reduced Listening. She offers a wealth of knowledge about the talent already present in the audio industry as well as expertise in introducing outstanding performers to the medium. Her duties will include creating shows for new audiences and covering genres like sports, entertainment, politics, and history.
Logan has been providing fresh ideas and support to producers and clients in the radio and podcasting industries for the past four years. She has primarily worked with BBC Radio 3, 6Music, BBC Sounds, and Spotify. In addition, she served as the executive producer of The Sleeping Forecast for BBC Sounds, Arlo Park's Dream Fuel and Gilles Peterson for 6Music, and Nailing It for Spotify.
Logan is a founding trustee of the audio charity Multitrack and held a variety of positions in the radio output of the Roundhouse in Camden prior to joining Reduced Listening.
Furthermore, Neilson—who was previously the Communications & Marketing Manager at the trade association British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE)—will establish a methodical and consistent public relations strategy for Goalhanger, bolstering the company's aspiration to become a preeminent media network globally. In addition to overseeing the consumer-facing communications for shows produced by Goalhanger, Neilson will be in charge of the company's overall B2B press strategy and oversee commercial activity.
Neilson has been implementing multi-channel communications activities for major Hollywood studios like The Walt Disney Company EMEA & Warner Bros. Discovery and OTT streaming/VOD platforms like Prime Video & Sky Store for the past seven years. These activities are tailored for a variety of B2B and B2C audiences throughout the UK and Europe.
Neilson worked in a variety of capacities for Universal Music Group N.V.'s marketing and promotions departments prior to joining BASE.
Both will report to Jack Davenport, Managing Director and Co-Founder, in their new positions. This will happen during a period of great success, as evidenced by growing monthly download figures and increased commercial activity.
Davenport announced their appointment by saying, "We are ecstatic to have Nicole and Andy join our team. Their wealth of knowledge will be extremely helpful as we grow our audience base and show portfolio, penetrate new markets abroad, and enhance our current shows' social media, video, and event offerings."
Goalhanger revealed earlier this month that it had recorded a record number of downloads and views during an extremely busy period spanning from May to July. This was primarily due to a global surge in interest in shows like "The Rest Is Politics" and "The Rest Is Football," with 40 million full episode downloads and views, along with an additional 80 million+ on social media.Later this month, WCBS 880 will cease to be an all-news station after providing the New York region with information and connections for almost 60 years.
