🔥Podcasting Revenue Surges: $350 Million Earned on Patreon Last Year.
The Patreon membership platform announced that last year, podcasters earned $350 million. More than 40,000 podcasters are earning money off their work through Patreon admirers, according to the company.
The Reveal:
From an audio-only experience to building a media empire with live shows, merchandise lines, brand deals, and book contracts, podcasting has changed. The podcaster is their CEO, needing a strategic partner to empower them to manage it effectively.
Patreon is the second largest category for podcasting because creators want control over their businesses.
More than 40,000 creators on Patreon are earning a paid income from their podcast as they build and grow their business. These committed fans make time for their favourite show each week by integrating it into their routine and scheduling their day to include it. Then, Patreon provides one place for podcasters to reach those real, actual fans—making it more important to creators than ever.
In 2023 alone, creators earned $350 million from real fans buying memberships and digital products sold in their shops that same year. Patreon places a great emphasis on building communities that have their own language and inside jokes—basically, the kinds of things that tend to really stick. Active engagement with their fans and positively influencing their lives has allowed creators to transform their work into thriving and enduring businesses.
Why does this matter ?
Artists who have an engaged fanbase can sustain an ongoing stream of revenue, and thus continue funding their projects in art; it sponsors financial security and a close relation with the audience, which will help them go on producing and sustaining content that resonates with their audience in building their brand and influence on the industry.

🚨Triton Digital Unveils First Latin America Podcast Ranker Report
Leading, technology, and services provider to the podcast, digital audio, and broadcast radio industries, Triton Digital just announced the release of the first-ever Latin America Sales Network Podcast Ranker. The report will leverage Triton's Podcast Metrics measurement service to provide insight into the top 12 sales networks.

The following report underlines the very impressive growth of the LATAM podcast landscape and will offer invaluable insights for publishers and advertisers alike, looking to engage with an extremely active and evolving audience,”says Oscar Sermeno, vice president, market strategy, Triton Digital, Americas Area.
Alongside the Sales Network Podcast Ranker, Triton Digital is releasing its 2024 Latin America Audio Insights Report, which provides a view into the evolving LATAM podcast landscape from June 2023 to May 2024, complete with key takeaways on how folks listen and a peek at the best new and top podcasts from the LATAM Podcast Ranker.
The report said that at 32%, News was the most downloaded genre of podcasts, followed by Comedy at 17%. The notable results for the new podcasts include the following:
Notable Podcast Debuts: Wondery's A Coach, SiriusXM Podcast Network's El Cielo Que Nunca Vi, and Wondery's Escándalo Mexicano.
The all-time highest downloaded episode came to be "Manchester City y la gloria del Mundial de Clubes" from Titulares Deportivos, Grupo BluRadio, with 460K downloads in the last year.
In terms of apps downloaded from New Episode RSS, the top one was Spotify with 32%, while Android Unspecified App took second place at 18%.
Alongside the June 2024 LATAM Podcast Ranker, Triton's Podcast Metrics measurement service offers insights into the Top 100 Latin American podcasts from June 3, 2024, to June 30, 2024. This information is provided in the Latin America Insights Report.
The Data and Sources :
The IAB Tech Lab certified Triton Digital's Podcast Metrics measurement service as conforming to Version 2.0 of the IAB Podcast Measurement Technical Guidelines. It provides an overwhelmingly huge amount of data regarding methods, time, and geographies of podcast content consumption across multiple hosting platforms by date range, location, device, podcast name, episode, title, and more.
Why this matters ?
It should concern advertisers and podcast creators within the Latin American market that the information about podcast popularity and reach is what will help the former engage with their desired audience and the latter make very informed decisions related to content creation strategies and advertisements.
Our view :
Knowing how podcasts rank and perform in the Latin American market, producers can thereby target content and marketing efforts in ways that grow listeners and attract sponsors. Data is useful to researchers and industry analysts who would like to track changes or trends in the Latin American podcasting scene.

Hundreds of podcasts, big and small, are fighting for the opportunity to win some of their biggest, most elusive accolades in podcasting. This year has ushered in hundreds of entries across over 25 categories, including the new one created this year to identify the best hosts from this industry.
