🎧PodX's Largest Acquisition to Date: UK's Platform Media Surpasses Eight-Figure Valuation

The UK's next-generation media company, Platform Media, announced today that global podcast group PodX has acquired the majority of the company. This represents the company's largest acquisition to date for its Stockholm headquarters. When everything is said and done, it is expected to be the biggest deal in the history of the UK podcast industry, with an initial valuation well over eight figures.In 2021, Platform Media was established by Matthew Sherry and Matt Sayward in collaboration with the 21six Group. It provides production, distribution, and monetization services all under one roof.[Read more]

An industry in transition was depicted in an optimistic light in the 2024 IAB Podcast Upfront. Due to economic challenges, the growth of advertising revenue for podcasts has slowed down in comparison to previous years, despite the fact that listenership and content diversity are still strong.

Compared to March, nine of the top 15 podcast advertisers, as determined by Magellan AI, spent more in April; however, upper echelon spending fell month over month.
