The Signal Awards, which honour excellence in podcasting in a number of categories selected by the industry, have announced that Jemma Rose Brown, a former co-creator of On Air Fest and industry veteran of over 13 years, will take on the role of General Manager. As part of her responsibilities, Jemma will oversee all strategic business endeavours for the awards programme and execute its fundamental goals of recognising podcasting excellence and facilitating industry discovery. On October 15, 2024, the winners of the third annual Signal Awards will be revealed. The awards ceremony will follow soon after. With more than 2000 entries in the previous year alone and over 130,000 podcast fans casting ballots for the Signal Listener's Choice award, the Signal Awards have swiftly emerged as the most coveted accolade in the industry. Jemma was chosen by the Signal Awards from the creative agency work x work, where she had previously worked for many years as the Director of On Air Fest, the top podcasting creative festival, and the agency's strategic operations. During her tenure at On Air Fest, Jemma oversaw partnerships and programming for nine straight years in New York and Los Angeles. She selected artists such as Jason Derulo, Jenny Slate, Roxane Gay, Ira Glass, and Francis Ford Coppola. As the lead strategist at work x work, Jemma oversaw the execution of campaigns and brand development for some of the most cutting-edge businesses in the world, such as Meta, Spotify, IBM, Target, Patreon, Sonos, and MoMA. She also functioned as the EP for podcasts like MacArthur "Genius" Hanif Abdurraqib's Object of Sound.

“Podcasting is a wildly creative and influential medium that continues to shape our cultural landscape,” said Jemma Rose Brown, General Manager of the Signal Awards. “I’m thrilled to step into this role at Signal to help recognize the most innovative work being made today, and expand the impact of the Signal Awards in our industry.
