The leading global podcast company Acast has chosen Podscribe as its prefered attribution partner worldwide. This strategic partnership will give Acast advertisers free, unmatched attribution services to measure and optimise their podcast advertising campaigns across the open podcasting ecosystem.

Certified by the IAB, their advanced technology and podcast analytics expertise will help Acast advertisers understand campaign performance. Podscribe will track listener behaviour to help Acast advertisers measure podcast show promotion.

Acast also announces that it will stop accepting Spotify Ad Analytics campaigns on September 1. Acast works with partners who share its podcast industry vision to create an open and transparent environment.

Acast has also established 'certified' attribution partners in Americas, EMEA, and APAC to support its open and platform-agnostic ecosystem. This approach gives buyers flexibility to choose the attribution partner that best suits their needs.

Kerning Cultures, a Dubai-based podcast network, has suspended operations and laid off staff due to a lack of funding.

Dana Ballout, a podcaster and documentary filmmaker, tweeted this.

“If you haven't heard, @kerningcultures suspended operations last month, and the entirety of our team (including me) was laid off due to a lack of financing. It's been an incredible 8 years at KC, and I am so sad the journey ended so abruptly”, she said

She said, “I know the podcast meant a lot to so many of us. It filled my heart every time someone sent a note of support or stopped me at a bar, cafe, or wedding to share how they felt about the podcast. It meant the world to me.”

Ballout reminds us that there’s a lesson in this for me or us: to have more ownership over our work and the stories we develop or care about so much.

She disclosed, “And with that, I look forward to telling more stories from our incredible, insane, beautiful, and rich region and its diaspora. And doing so with integrity and foresight. So here’s to not stopping”.

Founded in 2015, Kerning Cultures Network is an independent podcast company, raising the bar for audio storytelling and journalism in the Middle East and North Africa.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia Spotify's PodCamp, which is collaborating with Kerning Cultures Network, states that the programme has been postponed due to the unplanned situation.

The female-led Arabic and English network was eight years old, had 33 staff members and made 16+ award-winning, chart-topping Arabic and English podcasts.

Media and Communications Manager

Want to work for one of the fastest-growing, most innovative manufacturer-exporters in audio technology in the world today? RØDE is looking for a passionate Media and Communications specialist to join the RØDE Marketing team.

This unique and exciting role requires a highly motivated person with a passion for earned media, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and strong knowledge of audio technology. Reporting to the Head of Communications and working closely with the Campaign and Strategy teams, you will be responsible for developing and executing earned media strategies for all marketing campaigns, including new and existing products, events and brand campaigns.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute high-impact earned media strategies for all RØDE marketing campaigns

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media and key opinion leaders in the global audio and consumer technology space

  • Track and report media coverage

  • Collaborate with the Social and Campaign teams on ideating and executing community activations and events

  • Manage media and brand partnerships

  • Assist the Communications team with writing and editing content across a range of platforms, including press releases, print and digital marketing collateral

You will require the following skills and experience to be successful:

  • Tertiary qualification in media, communications, journalism, PR, digital marketing or other relevant fields

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a relevant media, PR or communications role

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong knowledge of audio technology across music production, filmmaking, streaming and podcasting

  • Ability to distil brand messaging, tone of voice and technical expertise into an informative and engaging communications

  • Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
