What is Podpod

Podpod is an AI-powered tool that turns written content — web articles and email newsletters — into conversational podcast episodes without any manual recording or editing. Users simply prepend ‘podpod.me/’ to any article URL, or forward a newsletter to their personal Podpod email address, and the service automatically generates an audio episode featuring two AI hosts discussing and summarising the content. The resulting episode is pushed directly to the user’s existing podcast app via an automatically updated RSS feed, making it entirely app-less from the user’s perspective.

The platform was built by Max (engineer) and Simon to tackle information overload: the founders wanted a way to consume the articles and newsletters they never had time to read, without adding more screen time. Each AI host has its own distinct voice, tone, and rhythm, and the system uses AI agents to capture summaries, opinions, and nuances from the source material. Additional host personalities and content bundling features were in development at launch. Pricing starts free, with paid tiers at €1.99/month (18 podcasts) and €3.99/month (64 podcasts plus newsletter generation).

What makes Podpod unique

Unlike most AI podcast generators that require users to log into a dedicated app or web interface, Podpod is designed to be entirely 'app-less' — it works by prepending a URL prefix or forwarding an email, then delivering episodes directly into whatever podcast app the user already uses via RSS. This frictionless, habit-integrated approach sets it apart from tools like Jellypod, Podfeed, and NotebookLM's audio overviews, which require more deliberate in-app interaction. Podpod's focus is squarely on personal content consumption rather than podcast publishing or distribution.
