Horror Legends Unite for Premium Audio Fiction
Bloody Disgusting, the horror division of Cineverse, has partnered with Storm King Productions to launch two original scripted podcasts under the “John Carpenter Presents” banner. The collaboration represents a significant expansion of premium horror storytelling into the audio fiction market, bringing together two established forces in the genre.

Something Wicked Premieres First
The first series, “John Carpenter Presents: Something Wicked,” premiered Sunday, April 5. The eight-episode scripted series, created by Read W. Ridley and produced by 12 Angry Bears with executive producer Sandy King, follows a young historian and seasoned detective investigating paranormal crimes in New Orleans.
Drawing inspiration from real events, the series blends supernatural horror with investigative drama, utilizing local New Orleans talent and the authentic atmosphere of bayou folklore to create its distinctive sound.
Storm King’s Audio Fiction Return
This partnership marks Storm King Productions’ return to podcasting after their acclaimed “Roanoke Falls” won a 2003 Signal Award. Sandy King, CEO of Storm King Productions, expressed enthusiasm about revisiting the medium.
“Storm King Productions got its start in podcasting with Roanoke Falls and it’s a form we’ve wanted to revisit,” King said. “Read Ridley brought us a compelling story rooted in New Orleans… It’s a story that provides a grand way for our return to fiction podcasting.”
Expanding Cineverse’s Audio Portfolio
Pacific Obadiah, Head of Original Programming for the Cineverse Podcast Network, highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration for their growing audio division, which includes Bloody FM.
“This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for our podcast network,” Obadiah noted. “From our success with other fiction podcasts, like ‘Dead Space: Deep Cover’ and ‘Mayfair Watchers Society,’ we know horror enthusiasts are looking for thrilling and authentic storytelling.”
Industry Powerhouse Behind the Scenes
Storm King Productions, founded in 1991, brings significant credentials to the partnership. Sandy King’s producing credits include iconic films such as “Prince of Darkness,” “They Live,” “In the Mouth of Madness,” and “Vampires.” The company also operates Storm King Comics, making King the first woman to found a comic publishing company, with over 100 books published to date.
Meanwhile, John Carpenter continues to expand his creative empire beyond film, with his first original graphic novel “Cathedral” set for release in August 2026, accompanied by a companion album.
