Producer, Untitled Pelosi Podcast Project

KQED, a public media organization in San Francisco, seeks an experienced audio producer for the Untitled Pelosi Podcast Project. The producer will shape pitches, frame episodes, and produce audio content focusing on Nancy Pelosi’s legacy and California politics. This position encourages applicants from marginalized communities and reflects a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute ideas for episodes and potential sources to the host and team
  • Book and pre-interview guests and sources
  • Support host with interview prep and in-studio direction
  • Record, log, and edit audio/tape for episodes
  • Assemble mixes and structure stories in multitrack audio editors
  • Develop sound design and scoring elements to enhance storytelling
  • Help conceptualize and frame episodes and interviews
  • Contribute to research and promotional content
  • Assist with social media and digital content

Required Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience as an audio producer or reporter
  • Strong interest in Nancy Pelosi’s political history
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, and Premiere
  • SAG-AFTRA membership required
