About the Role

Lower Street is a podcasting company that works with agencies, consultants, and enterprise companies to create exceptional shows. We’re looking for a Sound Designer to join our Production Team and work closely with our CEO and Head of Post Production.

In this role, you’ll be taking rough cuts from producers and turning them into highly polished, ready-to-publish episodes. This means finessing edits, cleaning up dialogue, working on pacing, sourcing and integrating music, creating soundscapes, as well as mixing and mastering the finished product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit a range of interview, narrative, solo, and fictional podcasts – working from a rough cut and/or brief
  • Take rough cuts from Descript and turn them into polished episodes in Pro Tools
  • Mix, master, source and place library music, and integrate other elements to bring content to life
  • Coordinate and take ownership of audio, session, and project files
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Pro Tools, iZotope RX, Ableton, and related programs
  • Collaborate with producers and team members on creative vision

About You

We’re looking for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, proactive, communicative, and adaptable. Ideal candidates have:

  • Extensive experience editing podcasts
  • A great ear with the ability to mix and master their own work
  • A desire to grow and learn from other sound designers
  • Ability to work to deadlines and meet schedule requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical eye and close attention to detail

Why Join Lower Street?

  • Work from anywhere with strong internet connection
  • Young, established company where you can make real impact without micromanagement
  • Flexible hours with global, asynchronous team
  • Generous PTO, sick leave, and public holiday policy
  • Equipment budget for tools and software you need
  • Professional development allowance for courses and conferences
  • Collaborative and supportive work culture
