Position Overview

The Dole Institute of Politics is seeking a Student Podcast Coordinator to support the production and hosting of “From the Balcony,” a podcast featuring candid, thoughtful conversations on public policy and defining issues of today. This role reports to the Director of Programs and Student Affairs and works closely with the Dole Institute Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development (50%): Brainstorm guest topics and speakers, coordinate logistics including microphone setup and equipment, arrange filming locations, and draft interview questions based on research.
  • Outreach & Communications (25%): Attend SAB recruitment events and meetings, edit short video clips for social media promotion, and maintain timely email communication with guest speakers.
  • Administrative Support (25%): Attend weekly meetings, provide office support including phone answering and visitor greeting, and assist with event setup and teardown.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have served at least one semester and be in good standing on the Dole Institute Student Advisory Board
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with video editing (Riverside platform or similar)
  • Previous involvement with Dole Institute programs

Hours: 7-12 hours per week, Monday-Friday, including daytime office hours and evening events.
