Privacy Policy — Trailer Mixtape browser extension

The Trailer Mixtape extension is published by Podwires. It exists to do one
thing: let you recommend a podcast to the Trailer Mixtape feed from the page
you’re already on.

What it accesses

The page you’re viewing — only when you click the icon.** When you open the
extension on a podcast page, it reads that page’s address, title, cover image
and podcast feed link. It does not read pages in the background, does not run on
pages you haven’t opened it on, and does not watch your browsing.

Your Trailer Mixtape sign-in.** If you’re already signed in at podwires.com,
the extension uses that session. If you’re not, you can sign in from the
extension itself.

When you do, your email and password are sent **once**, over HTTPS, directly to
podwires.com to log you in. They are not stored, not written to disk, and not
sent anywhere else. What the extension keeps afterwards is the same session
cookie your browser would hold if you had signed in on the website.

What it sends, and when

Nothing is sent until you click **Send recommendation**. At that point, and only
then, it submits to podwires.com:

– the address of the page you’re recommending
– its title, cover image and feed link
– the note you wrote, the rating you chose, and any genres you selected

That submission goes into a moderation queue and is reviewed by a person before
anything appears publicly.

What it stores on your computer

– the site address the extension talks to (so it can be pointed at a test site)
– which of two connection methods worked, so it needn’t be re-checked each time

Both stay in your browser. Neither contains anything about the pages you visit.

What it does not do

– No tracking, analytics, advertising, or fingerprinting
– No selling or sharing your data with third parties
– No use of your data for anything but publishing the recommendation you asked
it to publish
– No creditworthiness or lending assessment
– No servers other than podwires.com — it contacts nothing else

Your data on our side

A submitted recommendation is stored with your contributor account so we can
credit you and so you can manage what you’ve submitted. To have submissions
removed or your account deleted, contact us at the address below.

Changes

Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continuing to use the
extension after a change means accepting it.
