Pod Houston, Houston’s podcast community organization, is hosting an in-person networking mixer designed to bring together podcasters, content creators and audio enthusiasts in the city.

The mixer will take place Wednesday, May 6 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Mood Room Garden and Bar, located at 711 Milby Street, Suite 39 in Houston. The event is free to attend, though organizers note that spots are limited.

According to Pod Houston, the mixer is open to anyone with a launched or in-progress podcast, those considering starting a podcast, individuals working in podcasting or content creation, and people interested in connecting with creative professionals in Houston. The event will feature no panels or pitch sessions, instead focusing on informal networking and community building among attendees.

“This is for you if you have a podcast, are thinking about starting one, work in podcasting or content creation, or just want to connect with creative people doing things in Houston,” organizers stated in the event description.

The two-and-a-half-hour event is structured as a casual gathering emphasizing what organizers describe as “good people, good vibes, great conversations.” Attendees are invited to remain beyond the official 7:30 p.m. end time, as a live local musical performance is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. for those wishing to extend their evening.

Pod Houston is hosted by Ozeal Media, which has been organizing events for four years and has hosted 14 events in total. The organization has built a following within Houston’s podcasting community and previously reported 279 total attendees across its events.

Registration is available through Eventbrite, the online ticketing platform hosting the event listing. Interested attendees are encouraged to secure their spots promptly due to limited capacity.
