About the Role

Join the podcast team at ABC News as a Podcast Production Intern! This exciting opportunity offers hands-on experience working with a small but dynamic team that produces and publishes podcasts in the genres of news and true crime. You will gain comprehensive understanding of podcast production from story selection to seeing the finished product rise in the charts, working on popular shows like “Start Here,” “The View: Behind the Table,” and 20/20 true crime programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist producers with recording studio sessions and technical setup
  • Research competitor programming for marketing purposes
  • Aggregate and analyze podcast performance analytics data
  • Identify exciting clips from new releases for social media promotion
  • Participate in collaborative brainstorming for podcast launches
  • Quality-check podcast ad recordings before publication
  • Participate in editorial meetings for news, true crime, and chat shows

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in news
  • Familiarity with and interest in the true crime genre
  • Experience using audio editing software (Adobe Audition, ProTools, or Audacity)
  • Keen interest in a career in podcasts, either in production or business
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university or Disney program
  • At least 18 years old with unrestricted work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in journalism, television, news media production, or script writing
  • Avid consumer/creator of podcasts

Program Details

This is a full-time, six-month commitment from June 2026 through January 2027, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Must be fully available and able to provide own housing in the New York area. Portfolio review required—include a link to your portfolio on your résumé.
