The BBC Concert Orchestra is seeking an Assistant Producer to support the delivery of inspiring musical experiences through broadcast, live events, and digital platforms. Based at Broadcasting House in London, this is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work with one of the UK’s most celebrated orchestras.
The BBC Concert Orchestra performs and records a diverse range of classical and contemporary music, broadcasting weekly on BBC Radio 3’s Friday Night Is Music Night. The orchestra also appears at the BBC Proms, Southbank Centre, and Alexandra Palace Theatre, and has produced notable soundtrack recordings including Blue Planet and Call the Midwife.
- Support the production of radio broadcasts, live events, and digital content
- Assist with scheduling, logistics, and artist liaison for BBC Concert Orchestra productions
- Contribute to the development of new projects including BBC Sounds content
- Work closely with conductors, musicians, and production teams
- Help manage recordings, edits, and post-production workflows
- Coordinate with venues and partners including the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Royal Concert Hall
The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and audio production, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced broadcast environment. Experience in radio or music production is highly desirable.
Salary: £29,000–£36,000 plus London Weighting of £5,441. Interviews will be held on 22nd April 2026. Closing date: 1 May 2026.
