ABOUT MONEY NEWS NETWORK Money News Network is the most exciting independent financial media company out there. We’re a podcast-driven destination founded and bootstrapped by New York Times bestselling author and former CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg anchor Nicole Lapin. We strip away the confusing Wall Street jargon to deliver practical, engaging insights people can actually use, whatever stage of their money journey they’re on. Since launch we’ve surpassed 110 million downloads, grown 105% year over year, and built a portfolio of 15 shows, led by our flagship, Money Rehab with Nicole Lapin, which consistently ranks in the top 10 on Apple’s business charts. We did it independently, without outside capital, and we’re just getting started.
THE ROLE We’re looking for an Associate Producer to be the person who makes our recordings happen. You’ll own the studio: prepping the room, getting hosts and guests set up, capturing clean audio and video, and keeping every session running smoothly and on schedule. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of the team. You’ll work closely with our producers, editor and social media coordinator to hand off great raw material and keep episodes moving. It’s a fantastic seat if you love the energy of a recording day and want to grow inside a fast-moving, independent media company where the work you do is front and center. A quick note on fit: we’re a small, ambitious team that cares about the details, so we’re looking for someone reliable and genuinely invested, not just clocking in and out. If a busy recording schedule sounds fun rather than stressful, you’ll fit right in.
WHAT YOU’LL DO • Run recording sessions end to end: set up the studio, test gear, manage audio and video capture, and troubleshoot on the fly so nothing derails a session. • Prep the room and the run of show ahead of each recording, so hosts and guests can walk in and focus on the conversation. • Coordinate guests: scheduling, confirmations, arrival, and making sure they feel welcome and at ease on the day. • Capture clean, well-organized files and hand them off to the editor with clear notes, so post starts on the right foot. • Flag standout moments during recording that could make great clips, and share them with the social media coordinator. • Keep the recording calendar organized and communicate clearly with producers and the wider team about what’s coming up. • Help keep the studio in good shape: gear maintained, files backed up, and the space ready for the next session.
QUALIFICATIONS • Some experience in audio or video production, whether on a podcast, show, live event, student media or a strong personal project. • Comfortable with recording gear and studio setup, or a fast learner who’s eager to own the technical side. • Organized and detail-oriented, able to juggle a busy recording schedule and keep files and sessions in order. • Personable and calm with hosts and guests, and good at keeping a room relaxed and on time. • A clear communicator and dependable teammate who follows through.
BONUS POINTS • Interest in money, markets or business, or a curiosity to learn. • Basic video editing or clip-cutting skills. • Familiarity with podcast hosting tools (e.g., Megaphone) and episode metadata.
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF • You love the energy of a recording day and take pride in a session that runs smoothly. • You’re reliable, organized, and calm when things need troubleshooting in the moment. • You’re a great teammate who enjoys working with producers, an editor and a social coordinator. • You’re genuinely curious about money and business, and excited to help make it accessible. • You want to grow inside an independent media company that’s moving fast and doing exciting work.
