Position Overview

TED seeks an Audience & Marketing Manager to support marketing strategy and execution for listener growth across TED’s podcast portfolio. This temporary grant-sponsored role sits within the Audience Strategy & Growth team and plays a critical role in expanding and diversifying TED’s audiences, deepening engagement, and building long-term listener loyalty. The successful candidate will lead strategy and execution for priority shows while supporting broader growth efforts across TED’s entire podcast ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end marketing strategy and execution for a slate of priority TED podcasts
  • Utilize and optimize growth tools including audio cross-promotions, feed drops, host guest swaps, PR, paid media, newsletters, social media and Web
  • Manage paid media budget and develop strategy to reach audiences on social media, YouTube and Search
  • Refine organic social media strategy for TED podcasts and identify mechanisms for optimized audience reach
  • Define audiences, messaging and channel strategy to reach target listeners
  • Build and iterate growth roadmap informed by data, experimentation and audience insight
  • Partner with PR teams and external partners on press outreach and cultural moments
  • Serve as key connection between marketing, editorial, production, PR, analytics and platform partners
  • Assess campaign performance, share insights and apply learnings across shows
  • Develop performance recaps with emphasis on translating data into actionable insights
  • Support launches, campaigns and brand moments across all TED podcasts and Audio initiatives

Requirements

  • Degree (preferred) or diploma in commerce, administration, communications or similar discipline
  • 3-5 years of marketing, audience development or related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Google applications and Microsoft suite (especially Excel/Sheets)
  • Tech-savvy with ability to quickly learn new tools and platforms
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Ability to commute to NYC office for meetings and events; international travel as needed
  • Mission-driven commitment to the power of ideas to create impact
