Audio Production Expert

Crossing Hurdles is seeking an experienced Audio Engineer for remote contract work. This position offers flexible hours (10–40 hours/week) and competitive compensation based on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and mix multi-track audio projects using Ardour or LMMS as the primary DAW
  • Demonstrate authentic end-to-end audio production workflows, from initial concept to polished final mix
  • Apply professional mixing techniques to enhance clarity, balance, dynamics, and overall sound quality
  • Showcase creative experimentation, layering techniques, and real-time refinements during production sessions
  • Document and explain creative decisions and workflow rationale in written and verbal formats
  • Collaborate remotely with team members to meet project goals and provide constructive feedback
  • Ensure final outputs meet professional standards for audio quality and artistic integrity

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience with Ardour and/or LMMS in professional or semi-professional environments
  • Strong understanding of audio editing, mixing, and music production workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build complete tracks or mixes from scratch, including layering and refinement
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality audio assets
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote team setting
  • Adaptable and capable of handling evolving creative directions
