Overview

The Axis is seeking an experienced Audio & Video Editor to transform podcast recordings into high-quality finished products. This role requires empathy and thoughtfulness for a largely female audience base, combined with strong audio and video editing skills, ability to follow direction, and consistent deadline management.

You’ll edit long and short-form podcast recordings, creating and adding simple graphics and music for both in-house podcasts and client projects. Your work will be tailored for multiple platforms and will reflect our production style and client aesthetics.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and produce high-quality episodes of company podcasts for multiple platforms, including social media and YouTube, ensuring clear audio and engaging content
  • Proactively identify and suggest ways to improve and enhance recording quality
  • Work collaboratively with a team and take direction from project leads

Requirements

  • Impeccable ear for audio quality; technical proficiency in audio editing tools (e.g., Riverside, Hindenburg, Audacity, Adobe Audition)
  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci, After Effects)
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, audio clarity, and visual composition
  • Daytime availability for production meetings and creative collaboration as needed
  • Outstanding time management skills; able to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience with remote work environments and ticket-based project management systems (Monday, Jira, Trello, ClickUp, etc.)
  • Ability to seek feedback and take/offer direction constructively
  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Photoshop, Canva) is a plus
