Audiobook Voice Actor
Matador Management Group is hiring voice actors to record scripts for audiobooks. This is a contract position where voice actors will apply engaging storytelling cadence while maintaining professional audio quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Apply engaging cadence and storytelling techniques rather than simply reading scripts
- Infuse appropriate energy, cadence, and tone for each scene
- Record and deliver high-quality finished audio files meeting strict sound quality guidelines
- Complete all projects within agreed-upon timeframes
- Understand and adhere to local and international copyright and privacy laws
Requirements
- Fluent English speaker with ability to switch between various accents
- Clarity of voice and excellent enunciation
- Professional-standard audio recording environment and equipment
- Technical compliance: WAV or FLAC format, 2-channel stereo, PCM, 44.1kHz sampling rate minimum, 16-bit samples
- Audio must be free from ambient noise, plosives, sibilance, and unwanted sounds
- RMS between -24db and -14db
Qualifications
- Experience in media, communications, or related field is a plus
- Entry-level position
Payment Structure: Per Finished Hour (PFH) – compensation based on properly recorded and edited finished hours of audio, not actual production time.
