Full-Time Contract Editor

Elevate is recruiting a full-time Contract Editor to join our Med Legal team. As the Editor, you will be responsible for monitoring the daily queue to ensure reports are delivered timely and providing support to the contract editing team. You will review previously edited reports for completion, formatting, and correctness, and report to the Managing Editor while providing support for other editorial and administrative tasks as needed.

About the Role

Med Legal produces reports containing confidential medical and billing information. The Editing Team is responsible for ensuring proper grammar, formatting, branding, and content of these reports. This is an open-ended contract position requiring work hours of 9am-6pm PST.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor a daily queue of 30+ reports per day
  • Support contract editors by advising on editing questions
  • Complete final editorial review of reports
  • Provide feedback to peers
  • Compile PDFs and create internal hyperlinks
  • Coordinate notarization of legal affidavits
  • Coordinate with Operations teams
  • Archive documents in online CMS
  • Edit reports as needed
  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Previous professional employment experience required
  • Professional writing and/or editing experience highly preferred, or equivalent academic experience
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Familiarity with Adobe Professional, Outlook, and video conferencing
  • 2- or 4-year degree preferred
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
  • Independently motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and quick learning abilities essential
