Role Description
The Digital Podcast Marketing Specialist / Audio Growth Specialist / Branded Audio Specialist develops and promotes audio content that builds audience reach, brand awareness, engagement, and commercial value. This role creates growth strategies for podcasts and other branded-audio formats while ensuring each programme aligns with the organisation’s content, marketing, and audience objectives.
The position plans episode launches, distribution strategies, promotional campaigns, audience-engagement activity, and content repurposing across digital channels. It works closely with Content, Brand, Social Media, Design, Production, Partnerships, PR, and external hosts or creators to coordinate recordings, creative assets, guest promotion, paid media, and platform publishing.
The role monitors audience growth, listening behaviour, engagement, subscriptions, downloads, and campaign performance. It uses insights to improve content formats, distribution, discoverability, and promotional activity while identifying opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, community development, and stronger audience loyalty.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Digital Content, or a related field.
- Experience in podcast marketing, audio content, digital media, content marketing, social media, or audience development.
- Strong understanding of podcast platforms, audio-distribution channels, audience behaviour, and digital-content trends.
- Experience planning and executing podcast launches, episode-promotion campaigns, and audience-growth initiatives.
- Ability to develop promotional calendars, campaign briefs, episode messaging, and content-repurposing plans.
- Experience coordinating audio, video, social, email, website, and paid-media assets to support content distribution.
- Strong understanding of podcast metrics such as downloads, listeners, subscribers, completion rate, listener retention, and engagement.
- Ability to analyse audience data and use performance insights to improve content, publishing schedules, and promotional strategies.
- Experience optimising podcast titles, descriptions, artwork, show notes, keywords, and distribution listings for discoverability.
- Familiarity with podcast-hosting platforms, analytics tools, social-media scheduling tools, email platforms, and content-management systems.
- Strong writing, communication, project-management, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple episodes, campaigns, production deadlines, approvals, and external contributors.
- Strong creativity, attention to detail, audience-focused judgement, and ability to maintain a consistent brand voice.
- Experience with creator partnerships, branded content, sponsorships, video podcasts, or paid audio promotion is an advantage.
