Editor II

NPR is seeking an Editor II to pitch multiplatform coverage and interview ideas, and to book and script interviews with reporters and guests for live on-air broadcasts, podcasts, and pre-recorded tapings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pitch multiplatform coverage and interview ideas
  • Chase, book, and script interviews with reporters and guests
  • Conduct interviews for live on-air broadcasts and podcasts
  • Edit radio scripts and recorded interviews
  • Create stories for video, podcast, and other multimedia platforms
  • Coordinate with hosts and production teams on story development
  • Research and develop story ideas for editorial coverage

Requirements

  • Experience in radio, podcast, or broadcast journalism
  • Strong editing and scripting skills
  • Excellent interview and communication abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment
  • Experience with multiplatform content production
  • Knowledge of editorial standards and journalistic integrity
