An Upwork client is seeking an Experienced Podcast Audio Engineer to mix and master a narrative documentary podcast. Stems will be provided, and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a professional, broadcast-quality final mix.
This is a specialist role requiring deep knowledge of narrative audio production, sound design sensibility, and technical mastery of mixing and mastering workflows. Experience with documentary or storytelling podcast formats is highly desirable.
- Mix and master provided stems for a narrative documentary podcast series
- Balance dialogue, music, and ambient sound elements
- Apply professional-grade EQ, compression, noise reduction, and stereo enhancement
- Ensure loudness standards are met for major podcast platforms (e.g. -16 LUFS)
- Deliver clean, polished final audio files in agreed formats
- Provide revisions based on client feedback within an agreed workflow
Candidates must have a strong portfolio in narrative or documentary podcast mixing and mastering. Proficiency in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, or equivalent DAW is required. An understanding of podcast platform loudness specifications and delivery standards is essential.
