Head Audio Engineer
Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival seeks a Head Audio Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, and operation of audio elements for Festival programming. This position is part of the TST, DDT, or HJL production team and reports to the theater’s Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Support installation, maintenance, and operation of audio systems in all performance spaces, studios, and exhibition areas
- Participate in load-ins, load-outs, technical rehearsals, performances, and changeovers
- Program and operate audio consoles during work calls, technical rehearsals, and performances
- Serve as primary audio point of contact for visiting companies
- Lead audio checks, setup, and equipment maintenance to ensure systems are safe and prepared
- Assist with creation of accessible and collaborative work environment
- Maintain clean and orderly audio workspaces and storage areas
- Collaborate with Production Managers, Audio Supervisor, and visiting company staff
Requirements
- Experience with audio console programming and operation
- Knowledge of audio system installation and maintenance
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to work during load-ins, rehearsals, and performances
- Problem-solving abilities for show-specific audio requirements
