Local Producer – WBHM
The University of Alabama, Birmingham seeks a Local Producer for WBHM to develop, publish, and promote weekly shows and podcasts. This role focuses on repackaging or showcasing local reporting and creating compelling content for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce weekly shows and podcasts featuring local reporting
- Publish and promote podcast episodes across multiple platforms
- Repackage and showcase local reporting in innovative formats
- Produce assets for programming, marketing, and promotional purposes
- Collaborate with reporters and production teams on content creation
- Manage podcast production workflow from concept to distribution
- Optimize content for different platforms and audience segments
Required Qualifications
- Experience in audio/podcast production
- Understanding of local journalism and community reporting
- Proficiency with audio editing and production software
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and collaborative abilities
- Knowledge of podcast distribution platforms and promotion strategies
