Build the Show. Shape the Story. Grow the Audience.
Savant Wealth Management is looking for an experienced Podcast and Multimedia Producer to take ownership of our flagship podcast and help shape what comes next.
This is a newly created role for someone who knows how to turn an idea into an engaging, polished show and is ready to do more than simply execute a production checklist. You will develop the editorial vision, recruit compelling guests, prepare hosts, manage recordings, edit and publish episodes, and find smart ways to extend each conversation across video, social media, written content, and other channels.
The right person brings the creative instincts of a storyteller, the organization of a seasoned producer, and the professionalism that comes from producing content within a corporate or professional-services environment. You understand that creating a great podcast is only part of the job. Success also requires navigating stakeholder expectations, balancing competing priorities, coordinating busy executives, meeting deadlines, and producing content that aligns with a larger business strategy.
If you have owned professional podcast, broadcast, or interview-based programming from concept through publication and have the work to show for it, this is an opportunity to build something meaningful rather than step into a program that is already fully defined.
We’re not simply looking for someone who can produce a podcast. We’re looking for someone who can successfully produce a podcast inside a growing, collaborative business environment.
In this role, you can expect to focus in the following areas:
Lead the podcast from concept through publication
- Own the end-to-end production of Savant’s flagship podcast, including editorial planning, guest development, scheduling, recording, editing, approvals, publishing, and follow-up.
- Build and manage a forward-looking editorial calendar, production workflow, and guest pipeline.
- Develop the structure and run of show for each episode, including key themes, discussion flow, interview questions, and supporting research.
- Prepare podcast hosts and guests for successful recordings through thoughtful briefing materials and production guidance.
- Record episodes using Riverside and publish and distribute content through Podbean and other designated channels.
- Troubleshoot technical concerns, coach remote guests, and maintain a polished, professional production experience from the first outreach through publication.
Find the people and stories worth hearing
- Research and recruit executives, industry experts, thought leaders, centers of influence, and Savant subject matter experts as guests.
- Confidently lead outreach and preparation conversations with senior leaders and external guests.
- Develop compelling episode concepts, even when the subject matter is new or unfamiliar.
- Stay resourceful when schedules shift, guests cancel, or production plans change.
- Maintain backup options and keep production moving without waiting for someone else to solve the problem.
Turn every episode into more
- Identify the strongest moments from each conversation and repurpose them into promotional audio, short-form video, social content, written thought leadership, and other marketing assets.
- Edit audio and video into professional, audience-ready content.
- Collaborate with Savant’s content and social media teams to extend the reach and value of each episode.
- Support broader multimedia storytelling for the Savant brand, advisors, executives, and firm events.
- Help evolve the program’s video capabilities and recommend new formats, tools, and production approaches.
Build a program that can grow
- Establish organized, repeatable workflows for planning, production, approvals, publishing, and content repurposing.
- Monitor downloads, subscribers, audience engagement, and other podcast performance indicators.
- Use available data and industry best practices to strengthen guest selection, production quality, content value, and the listener experience.
- Bring forward ideas proactively and think several steps ahead about what the program will need next.
- Serve as a trusted production partner to podcast hosts, marketing leadership, executives, and external partners.
A couple things to note about our Podcast and Multimedia Producer position:
- This is an individual contributor role. The producer will work closely with marketing leadership, podcast hosts, the broader content and social media teams, executive leaders, subject matter experts, and Savant’s public relations agency.
- The role requires meaningful independence. The successful candidate will receive strategic direction and transition support, but should be prepared to take ownership quickly and produce episodes with increasing independence during the first 60 to 90 days.
- Experience working within a corporate environment is highly valued. While strong podcast production experience is essential, we’re especially interested in candidates who understand how to operate inside a business setting. This role regularly partners with executives, advisors, subject matter experts, compliance teams, agency partners, and marketing stakeholders. Success requires someone who can balance creativity with professionalism, navigate multiple perspectives, and keep projects moving while representing the Savant brand.
- The anticipated schedule is approximately 40 hours per week. This is a salaried, exempt position, with flexibility needed at times to complete production work and meet deadlines.
- Most podcast production will take place virtually. Guests may be located throughout the country, and planning conversations and recordings will regularly take place online.
- The preferred work arrangement is within drivable distance of a Savant office. Proximity to Rockford may be especially helpful, but candidates near other Savant locations may also be considered.
Qualifications
The Podcast and Multimedia Producer position typically requires the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, broadcasting, media production, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Three to five years of experience in podcast production, broadcast media, radio or newscast production, multimedia production, journalism, content marketing, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience owning professional podcast or interview-based content from initial concept through publication.
- A portfolio or published examples that demonstrate the quality and scope of your production work.
- Strong audio editing and post-production skills, along with video shooting and editing capabilities.
- Excellent storytelling, writing, editing, research, and interviewing skills.
- Proven ability to develop a show structure, guide conversations, and create content that is engaging and useful to its intended audience.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage guest pipelines, production calendars, multiple stakeholders, and firm deadlines.
- Confidence working directly with executives, subject matter experts, external guests, and agency partners.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial approach, with the judgment to make decisions and move work forward with minimal supervision.
- The resourcefulness to adjust quickly, develop backup plans, and remain effective when circumstances change.
Experience That Would Help You Stand Out
- Producing a podcast or interview-based program within a corporate, agency, broadcast, media, or professional production environment.
- Experience with Riverside, Podbean, Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere Pro, Descript, Canva, or comparable production platforms.
- Experience creating social media assets and working with social media management tools.
- Familiarity with podcast analytics, subscriber growth, audience engagement, and content promotion.
- Experience supporting executives or developing thought leadership content.
- Background in financial services, investing, business media, journalism, public relations, or professional services.
- Experience producing video podcasts or other multimedia interview programming.
