About the Role
SoScale Media is seeking a Podcast Editor & Shorts Creator to transform podcast episodes into high-quality long-form content and engaging short-form clips. You’ll be responsible for editing full podcast episodes and extracting viral, high-retention shorts from each episode.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit full podcast episodes for YouTube and Spotify with clean cuts, pacing, and flow
- Add visual elements including titles, speaker names, subtle animations, and sound design
- Identify best moments from podcast episodes and cut them into high-retention short-form clips
- Optimize clips for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts with strong hooks, fast pacing, and dynamic captions
- Implement zoom cuts and visual emphasis for modern design
- Spot moments with viral potential and structure clips for maximum retention and shareability
- Generate multiple high-performing clips from each podcast episode
Required Qualifications
- Experience editing podcasts or social media content
- Understanding of short-form storytelling and what makes clips perform on social platforms
- Strong pacing and retention editing skills
- Good eye for modern visual style
- Proficiency with Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience editing creator podcasts
- Familiarity with Open Residency / D2C Diaries style content
- Understanding of viral clip formats
- After Effects experience
