Role Overview

The Podcast Producer & Content Creator owns the full production lifecycle of the Field Ethos long-form interview podcast — from guest coordination and recording logistics through editing, publishing, and social clip creation. Beyond the podcast, this role supports the broader media team through photography for editorial features, gear reviews, and brand partner deliverables. The ideal candidate is technically capable, highly organized, has a strong ear for storytelling, and genuinely connects with the Field Ethos brand.

Primary Responsibilities — Podcast Production

Pre-Production:

  • Manage guest scheduling, logistics, and preparation for each episode
  • Collaborate with hosts on episode concepts, run-of-show outlines, and interview prep materials
  • Ensure recording environments (in-person and remote) are technically ready before each session

Production:

  • Set up and operate audio and video recording equipment for all podcast sessions
  • Monitor audio and video quality during recording; troubleshoot in real time
  • Create a comfortable, professional recording experience for guests and hosts

Post-Production & Distribution:

  • Edit long-form podcast episodes for clarity, pacing, and story — audio and video
  • Produce clean, broadcast-quality audio; handle noise reduction, leveling, and mixing
  • Publish finished episodes across podcast distribution platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.)
  • Create short-form video and audio clips for social media promotion
  • Write or contribute to episode descriptions, show notes, and metadata

Secondary Responsibilities — Photography

  • Shoot editorial and lifestyle photography for articles, features, and social content
  • Produce clean, high-quality product images for the web store, gear reviews, and partner deliverables
  • Set up and manage basic lighting for studio-style product photography

Required Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of hands-on podcast or audio/video production experience
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and edit long-form interview content
  • Proficiency with professional audio recording, editing, and mixing tools
  • Proficiency with video editing software
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage scheduling, assets, and deadlines
  • Portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant production experience
