About the Role

Join the podcast team at ABC News as a Podcast Production Intern! This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team that produces and publishes podcasts in news and true crime genres. You will gain hands-on experience with popular shows like “Start Here,” “The View: Behind the Table,” and true crime programming under the 20/20 brand. This comprehensive internship spans the full podcast production lifecycle, from story selection to seeing finished products rise in the charts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist producers with recording studio sessions, including setup and breakdown
  • Research competitor programming for marketing purposes
  • Aggregate and analyze podcast performance analytics data
  • Participate in studio recordings and collaborative brainstorms for podcast launches
  • Contribute ideas on title and artwork design based on competitive research
  • Identify exciting clips from new releases for social media marketing
  • Research prospective podcast sponsors and quality-check ad recordings
  • Participate in editorial meetings for daily news, true crime narratives, and chat shows

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in news
  • Familiarity with and interest in the true crime genre
  • Experience using audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, ProTools, or Audacity
  • Keen interest in a career in podcasts (production or business)
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university or Disney program
  • Must be at least 18 years old with unrestricted work authorization
  • Portfolio required (link must be included on résumé)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in journalism, television, news media production, or script writing
  • Active consumer/creator of podcasts

Program Details

Full-time, six-month commitment from June 2026 through January 2027. 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Must provide own housing in New York area and reliable transportation.
