Position Overview
Chez Boom Audio is seeking an experienced Post-Production/Production Sound Engineer to join the studio. This role supports ongoing audio production across a range of formats including ADR, sound design, audiobooks, podcasts, and other narrative or spoken-word projects. The Audio Engineer will be responsible for recording, editing, mixing, mastering, and delivering broadcast-quality audio.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and manage recording sessions for voice actors, narrators, podcast hosts, and other talent
- Record and engineer ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) sessions for film, animation, and digital media
- Edit spoken-word recordings including dialogue cleanup, noise removal, breath control, and pacing adjustments
- Create and implement sound design elements such as sound effects, ambiences, and sonic textures
- Engineer and produce audiobook recordings including narration capture, dialogue editing, and final mastering
- Produce podcast audio including multi-track recording, dialogue editing, music integration, mixing, and final episode preparation
- Mix and master projects to professional broadcast standards
- Prepare and organize final audio deliverables for clients, publishers, and distributors
- Collaborate closely with producers and creative leads to ensure projects meet technical and storytelling objectives
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in audio post-production
- Advanced proficiency in Pro Tools and Source Connect
- Strong expertise in dialogue editing, noise reduction, and vocal cleanup
- Experience engineering ADR sessions and managing synchronization workflows
- Experience producing or engineering podcasts or spoken-word media
- Experience recording and editing audiobook narration
- Familiarity with professional audio restoration tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in session management
- Ability to engineer remote recording sessions when necessary
Work Structure
This role is structured as a part-time contractor retainer supporting the ongoing production needs of Chez Boom Audio. The engineer will work across multiple concurrent projects and is expected to maintain consistent availability aligned with studio production schedules.
