Producer, Scripted Podcasts
Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a Producer to lead the development and production of highly researched weekly and limited-run documentary podcasts while supporting the growth of broader scripted audio projects. This role is ideal for a highly organized producer with exceptional editorial instincts, strong research, interviewing, and reporting skills, and a passion for nonfiction storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day production operations for weekly scripted true crime podcasts and development of documentary series
- Research cases, source materials, court records, timelines, and archival content
- Prepare hosts with comprehensive research packets, interview materials, and briefing documents
- Develop story pitches, episode concepts, and narrative structures
- Conduct interviews with sources, experts, and stakeholders
- Write scripts, outlines, interview questions, and editorial materials
- Collaborate with hosts, senior leadership, editors, and associate producers
- Manage production calendars, workflows, and multiple simultaneous projects
- Oversee associate producers and collaborate with social editorial teams
- Manage guest outreach, booking, and recording sessions
- Review edits and provide creative feedback on pacing and narrative flow
- Identify opportunities for larger investigations and multi-platform projects
- Develop companion content for YouTube and social platforms
- Track audience metrics and performance data
- Uphold journalistic standards through fact-checking and legal compliance
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience producing podcasts, documentaries, investigative journalism, or related content
- Demonstrated experience producing highly researched, story-driven content from development through publication
- Strong editorial instincts and nonfiction writing background
