About the Role
The Bulwark is seeking a talented Producer to join our growing content team in Washington, DC. In this full-time, onsite position, you will work closely with the Head of Shows to develop, produce, and manage high-quality podcast and video content that delivers incisive political analysis and reporting in defense of America’s liberal democracy.
As a Producer at The Bulwark, you will play a crucial role in bringing our editorial vision to life across multiple platforms, including podcasts, YouTube, and digital media. You will collaborate with experienced political analysts, journalists, and contributors to create compelling content that serves our audience of politically engaged listeners and viewers.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and manage podcast episodes from conception through publication, including recording, editing, and distribution
- Coordinate with hosts, guests, and contributors to schedule interviews and content sessions
- Oversee post-production workflows including audio editing, mixing, and quality assurance
- Develop content calendars and manage production timelines to meet publishing deadlines
- Manage technical aspects of recording and streaming for live events and shows
- Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content aligns with The Bulwark’s mission and editorial standards
- Monitor analytics and audience engagement to optimize content performance
About You
- Proven experience producing podcasts or audio/video content in a professional setting
- Strong technical proficiency with audio editing software and production tools
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of political analysis, journalism, or media landscape is a plus
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for quality storytelling and commitment to editorial excellence
