Studio Manager

Vox Media is seeking a proactive, highly organized Studio Manager to oversee a premier podcast and video production facility in downtown Manhattan. This is a full-time 6-month temporary position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of a fleet of podcast studios and video stages to ensure seamless production experience
  • Maintain facility upkeep, ensuring studios and common areas remain clean, organized, and talent-ready
  • Coordinate studio session schedules, managing room prep and transitions between back-to-back recordings
  • Coordinate staffing for production sessions by scheduling internal operators or hiring freelance staff
  • Act as primary point of contact on studio floor to greet talent, producers, and guests
  • Manage studio booking priorities and resolve scheduling conflicts between show groups
  • Support onboarding for new show launches, including set builds, technical tests, and facility tours
  • Liaise with building management regarding logistics and adherence to building policies
  • Identify and flag technical or facility issues to engineering and operations leadership
  • Proactively solve logistical challenges and optimize operations

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills with ability to interface with high-profile talent
  • Highly organized with ability to manage complex, overlapping schedules in fast-paced setting
  • Strong background in production environments or studio management
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Basic understanding of production infrastructure
  • Diplomatic and strategic approach to managing requests and prioritizing resources
