Overview
ABC Audio Studios is seeking an experienced and creative Supervising Producer to join the team on a backfill basis, working on the award-winning podcast Ladies, We Need to Talk. Reporting to the Executive Producer, you’ll be responsible for researching, planning and delivering digital-first audio and associated digital content that grows reach and builds loyal audiences across the ABC Audio Studios podcast slate. This is a full-time contract position based in Ultimo until February 2027, offering the opportunity to operate at a senior level with significant independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and produce the award-winning podcast Ladies, We Need to Talk to deadline
- Oversee editorial integrity and fact-checking across all content
- Work closely with Legal to manage editorial risk
- Collaborate across teams to maximise distribution and audience growth through digital features, social media and innovative content packaging
- Support production logistics including recording, studios, travel and technical workflows
- Guide small teams, mentor emerging talent and deliver multiple projects concurrently to a high standard
- Actively promote the ABC’s values of aiming high, thinking differently, taking ownership, and delivering together
What We’re Looking For
- Highly skilled audio professional with substantial experience in senior podcast or audio production
- Advanced editorial judgement and exceptional scriptwriting, editing and audio production skills
- Sophisticated understanding of online audiences, podcast distribution and social media strategy
- Natural leader and communicator with proven ability to guide teams and mentor talent
- Deep commitment to sourcing and creating authentic stories that reflect the diversity of the Australian community
- Strong integrity, collaboration skills and commitment to inclusive, respectful workplace culture
