About the Role

As a Video Editor at Backroads, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how Backroads trips come to life through video. With a constant influx of footage captured by guests, trip leaders, and photographers around the world, you will transform raw content into polished, engaging stories that inspire audiences and strengthen brand affinity. This is a hands-on post-production editing role focused on crafting high-quality short- and mid-form videos optimized for social media, web, YouTube and paid channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, organize and select from large volumes of guest, leader and staff footage across media types, including phone and UGC content
  • Edit high-quality short and mid-form videos for social, web, YouTube and paid media
  • Edit raw content into polished deliverables, including audio revision, color correction and stabilization
  • Adapt single pieces of footage into multiple platform-specific versions
  • Maintain Backroads brand voice and visual style across all video content
  • Own organization and maintenance of the video asset library for easy retrieval
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors when additional editing support is needed
  • Track projects through Jira and participate in weekly video production meetings

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience editing digital video content in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong storytelling instincts and ability to find narratives within existing footage
  • Experience creating content for social media, YouTube, websites and paid channels
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere (After Effects experience a plus)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large volumes of media files
