About the Role
We’re seeking a talented Short Form Video Editor specializing in vertical video content. You’ll transform long-form footage—including interviews, behind-the-scenes clips, and podcasts—into compelling, thumb-stopping short clips optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
Your focus will be crafting engaging openings within the first three seconds, maintaining viewer interest through well-paced edits, and enhancing content with captions, motion graphics, and sound design. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that reach wide audiences and influence cultural conversations.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit 3–5+ short-form clips weekly from long-form footage with quick turnaround times
- Create compelling cold opens and pacing tailored for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts
- Design and style subtitles for vertical video formats
- Incorporate motion graphics and sound design to enhance engagement
- Deliver high-quality edits on tight deadlines, sometimes same-day
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience editing short-form vertical video for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro as primary editing tool
- Strong storytelling techniques, especially hook-first narratives for social media
- Solid knowledge of audio editing fundamentals including dialogue cleanup, EQ, and compression
- Experience designing subtitles for vertical video formats
- Familiarity with current social media trends and viral content mechanics
- Excellent time management and remote work communication skills
- Portfolio or reel showcasing vertical video edits preferred
