About the Role
The Vox Media Podcast Network is hiring a Video Producer for the award-winning show “On with Kara Swisher.” This show reaches a large, influential audience of political leaders, tech innovators, and cultural figures including Kamala Harris, Sam Altman, and Margaret Atwood.
As Video Producer, you’ll manage technical workflows for full episodes and social video content, create assets and thumbnails, and oversee publishing. This is a hands-on role for an experienced visual storyteller with a background in news, delivering polished content tailored to YouTube and other social platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and produce longform video episodes for YouTube and similar platforms with strong pacing and dynamic visuals across remote, in-studio, and hybrid formats
- Create platform-native shortform content optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Design and implement scalable visual elements including motion graphics, captions, and lower-thirds
- Manage and mentor freelance editors and designers, providing creative feedback and ensuring brand consistency
- Write and edit scripts in collaboration with hosts and show teams
- Collaborate with editorial, social, and audience development teams to meet performance goals
- Stay current on visual and social media trends in podcast and digital media
Requirements
- Experienced visual storyteller with background in news or media production
- Proficiency in video editing and motion graphics software
- Understanding of platform-specific best practices for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and related platforms
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
