- The Spotlight Award recognizes podcasts commanding larger mainstream audiences, generating over 100,000 downloads per episode and helping to drive podcasting into the cultural mainstream.
- The Specialist Award honors exceptional independent podcasts reaching niche audiences of less than 5,000 listens per episode, amplifying underrepresented voices and unique perspectives.
This dual approach ensures that the awards recognize both the commercial success of major productions and the artistic merit and cultural importance of independent creators serving passionate, dedicated communities.
Public Voting Opens on Spotify
The Listeners’ Choice Award, powered by Spotify, will take center stage in the voting process. The top 20 podcasts voted for by the public will be revealed on Thursday, 30 July, followed by Round 2 voting from 30 July through 28 August, exclusively on the Spotify platform.
Spotify users will receive three votes to allocate however they choose across the shortlisted podcasts, giving listeners direct influence over which show wins this prestigious award. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on 1 October.
