Cineverse Launches VAUDIO to Convert Podcast Ads Into Connected TV Campaigns

Cineverse Corp. announced the launch of VAUDIO, a proprietary advertising technology that converts existing podcast, radio and streaming audio commercials into connected TV placements without requiring traditional video production. The platform, available through Cineverse’s ad solutions group, enables advertisers to expand audio campaigns to CTV inventory by pairing existing audio with lightweight visual formats designed for television viewing.

VAUDIO transforms host-read campaigns, streaming audio creative and podcast advertisements into visually-compelling CTV placements by adding required visuals to existing audio assets. The platform offers three distinct ad formats: VAUDIO Host, which combines approved host-read audio with authorized talent imagery; VAUDIO Brand, which pairs approved audio with brand or product assets; and VAUDIO Loop, which uses approved audio with moving visual execution. The offering was developed by executives who joined Cineverse through the acquisition of IndiCue and is built on IndiCue’s existing CTV ad infrastructure using the company’s industry-leading Matchpoint technology.

“VAUDIO brings immediate opportunities to brands looking for an easy way to get more out of their campaigns using CTV, and for our supply-side partners, including media owners, platforms and OEMs, who can now unlock new ad formats and creative that support a better viewer experience, increase ad inventory fill, and drive new revenue,” said Erick Opeka, Cineverse President and Chief Strategy Officer. “At steady state, we believe VAUDIO can contribute up to $12 million in annual revenue at a 15 to 20 percent contribution margin, and we are targeting that run rate by the end of our fiscal year.” Opeka added that because VAUDIO is built on IndiCue’s existing infrastructure and developed by the same team, it required minimal incremental investment with contributions flowing to the bottom line. Nicholas Frazee, Cineverse Executive Vice President of Revenue, stated that “CTV inventory is too often underused or wasted, leading to poor viewer experiences, money left on the table for platforms, and missed opportunities for brands.” He said the platform allows advertisers to “easily reach addressable audiences by leveraging existing assets, extending the ROI of podcast campaigns.”

For podcast producers and audio professionals, VAUDIO represents a new monetization pathway that extends the value of existing audio content without requiring repurposing or additional production costs. Creators can repurpose successful podcast ad reads and audio campaigns for CTV distribution, potentially reaching audiences in the connected television environment—a growing segment where advertising inventory often goes underutilized. This development could reshape how audio creators approach campaign strategy, allowing them to maximize ROI from single audio assets across multiple platforms and formats.

The launch reflects broader industry trends toward cross-platform advertising and the recognition that audio-first creative can drive awareness and recall when adapted for visual media. CTV advertising has become increasingly significant as viewers migrate to ad-supported streaming services. VAUDIO addresses a gap in the market where advertisers seek efficient ways to activate CTV inventory without expensive video production. The platform’s entry into the market signals that established ad tech companies are recognizing podcast and audio content as viable source material for television advertising rather than as separate verticals.

Cineverse projected that VAUDIO could generate up to $12 million in annual revenue at 15 to 20 percent contribution margins by the end of the company’s fiscal year. The company did not disclose current revenue figures or adoption rates. Advertising partners at launch include A24, Aura Entertainment, NEON, Signature Entertainment and Well Go USA, indicating early adoption among entertainment and film companies seeking to expand advertising reach.

The VAUDIO announcement underscores consolidation within audio advertising technology and the integration of podcast monetization into broader streaming ecosystems. As CTV platforms mature and competition for ad inventory intensifies, tools that efficiently convert existing content into multiple ad formats become valuable for both supply-side platforms and demand-side advertisers. For the podcast industry specifically, VAUDIO suggests that audio-native content is gaining recognition as a legitimate source material for premium CTV advertising, potentially elevating the perceived value of podcast ad inventory and opening new revenue channels for creators and networks who can leverage existing audio campaigns effectively.
