Radio Legends Unite for New Weekly Show
BBC Radio 1’s Greg James and broadcaster Alice Levine have announced their highly anticipated new podcast collaboration, “Bad Chat,” set to launch Thursday, May 7th on all major podcast platforms and YouTube.

The weekly show, produced by award-winning production company Persephonica, promises to be a space where the longtime friends dissect the “best-worst” parts of their weeks, from shame spirals and existential crises to petty grievances and mild injustices.
A Club for Overthinkers
“It’s a club for the pair (and their listeners) to share the ‘best-worst’ parts of the week,” according to the announcement. The show will be “forensic about the trivial and dramatic about the inconsequential,” creating a community for fellow overthinkers.
Listeners can participate through multiple channels: emailing hello@badchatclub.com, messaging via WhatsApp at 07775 199 566, or leaving voicemails on their answerphone at 0333 011 2814. The duo even maintains a working fax machine for submissions.
13 Years in the Making
James and Levine’s friendship began on radio and has flourished off-air for 13 years. Their previous collaborations include developing Crossed Wires, described as “the world’s biggest podcast festival.”
“It’s been about five months since I last launched a podcast and honestly I was getting jittery,” James commented. “It seems absurd that Alice and I haven’t done a show together until now and I’m hoping it wasn’t for good reason.”
Levine added with characteristic humor: “It felt like Greg really needed a win, so I said I’d do a show with him. He couldn’t believe it, you should have seen his little face.”
Star-Studded Production Team
Persephonica brings impressive credentials to the project, having produced chart-toppers like “Miss Me?” with Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, “Dig It” with Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball, and “Dua Lipa: At Your Service.”
“We pride ourselves on working with the world’s biggest talent so it’s nice to take a risk once in a while,” joked Persephonica CEO Dino Sofos.
The podcast joins Acast’s Creator Network and will be available across all major podcast platforms, with video versions accessible on YouTube. A trailer is now available for preview.
