Award-Winning Kids Podcast Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest Returns for Season 6
Pinna, Realm’s acclaimed audio streaming service for kids and families, has announced the upcoming sixth season of Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest, the beloved interactive storytelling podcast hosted by New York Times bestselling author Adam Gidwitz. New episodes premiere this fall, bringing fresh magic to the series that has captivated families since its 2018 launch.

In Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest, Gidwitz and his young collaborators spin unique, unfiltered story experiences from classic tales around the world. Each story is rated on a scale of “Grimm, Grimmer, or Grimmest,” letting audiences choose their own comfort level of spookiness—a format that has resonated deeply with both children and parents.
Breaking New Ground with Video and Live Classroom Sessions
Season 6 marks a significant milestone: the show’s first-ever video season. Gidwitz, a former math teacher, invited elementary school students from Brooklyn and Staten Island to participate in live storytelling sessions. Recordings at Park Slope’s PS 321 and Concord’s PS 9 The Naples Street School captured the candid questions, laughter, and genuine reactions that have become the series’ trademark. These classroom moments will be featured throughout the video season, giving audiences a chance to see the young listeners behind the voices for the very first time. A newly-released sizzle reel offers an exciting preview of what’s to come.
“Adam’s storytelling has an undeniable magic that attracts kids and parents alike,” says Pinna CEO Molly Barton. “Kids really seem to love being entrusted with strange and sometimes scary stories that Adam guides them through with humor and curiosity.”
Expanded Storytelling Roster and Live Central Park Celebration
Season 6 promises an exciting roster of guest storytellers and returning favorites. Gidwitz announced the debut of a guest Filipina storyteller, the return of popular @coslibrarian Liz Gotauco, a new installment from fan favorite Sana Alimohamed featuring another selection from 1001 Arabian Nights, and the series’ first foray into Norse tales with Mr. Dragan, described as “the walking encyclopedia of fairy tales.”
To celebrate the upcoming season, fairy tale fans of all ages are invited to join Adam Gidwitz for a special performance at The Public Theater’s Family Afternoon at The Delacorte on Sunday, June 14, at 4:00 PM ET in front of the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The free family event celebrates the launch of Shakespeare for the City and Free Shakespeare in the Park and features an afternoon of activities for children and families. The first 100 kids at the Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest performance will receive a special gift bag.
“I am honestly flabbergasted to see the excitement and enthusiasm for Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest growing and growing across the country, as families fly from California to Syracuse and drive from Ohio to Brooklyn to participate live in the oral tradition—revived for the 21st century,” said Gidwitz.
Award-Winning Legacy and Industry Recognition
Since its launch in 2018, Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest has earned widespread acclaim from families, educators, and critics alike. The series won the 2025 Webby Award for Best Kids & Family Podcast and earned a nomination in the same category at the 2026 Webby Awards. It has also received a Parents’ Choice Gold Award and Kidscreen Award recognition. The series continues to introduce new generations of listeners to timeless fairy tales intended to spark imagination, nurture resilience, and foster a healthy appreciation for things that go bump in the night.
